WiFi File Transfer lets you upload and download files to/from your phone or tablet over a wireless connection with your Mac without USB cable on an easy-to-use web interface. With Any Send, you can transfer files between Windows computers or between your Mac and Windows PCs. Basically, you can perform file transfers with Nearby Sharing using either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and it is not just for laptops. If the computers are on the same local network, why not share the files directly via network itself. They also have an Android app that will let you quickly send files from any Windows or Mac computer to your Android mobile phone or vice-versa. We have previously seen how to transfer files between Ubuntu and Windows on local network. Today we are going to see an even easier way to transfer files among Linux, Windows and Mac OS X on local network. HOW TO SHARE FILES PC TO MAC OVER WIFI MAC OS X File sharing first needs to be enabled on the Mac machine. To get started, you need to install the Any Send app on your computers. HOW TO SHARE FILES PC TO MAC OVER WIFI INSTALL Ensure Share files and folders using SMB (Windows) is checked. Make a note of the address (IP or Hostname) of the Mac. It will be listed at the top of the sharing window. Then select one or more files that you wish to transfer to the other machine. Press Ctrl + C to copy these files to the clipboard, click the Any Send icon in the Windows task bar (or the Menu bar of your Mac), and select the other computer’s name. In addition to files, you can also transfer entire folders from one computer to another without having to zip them first. If you have a Mac, you can easily view and move your files, launch apps, or restart another Mac computer remotely. Just select the folders, copy your selection to the clipboard and choose the destination computer from the Any Send icon.
